We generally require a referral prior to an appointment being allocated from your GP or other health professional. This is a requirement for most insurance companies.
Once your referral is received, we need to assess and confirm that you are being referred to the correct specialist. We will make contact with you after the referral has arrived and been assessed by the specialist. We should have a clearer idea when your appointment will be.
If you are self-funding, in some cases we are able to accept a self referral. Provided we have received or been advised of the clinical issues you are experiencing, appropriate imaging and reports, blood results and doctor’s notes. We may still request a referral from your GP at this point, if we have insufficient information.
Depending on the demand, wait time for an appointment will vary.
